image-loweRICHARD LOWE, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS -After receiving his college degree in business and sports management, Rick traveled the world from his native England to compete and coach international lacrosse. Rick worked at a New England summer camp for 10 years as a Sports Director. Rick has been with Corbin’s Crusaders from the beginning and knows the children, families, and the program inside out. Rick and his wife, Lisa, have three children and his experience and fun-loving attitude are key components to Corbin’s Crusaders.

MANNY BATTEN, CAMPUS LEADER – Growing up in Brooklyn, NY in the 1990′s, Basketball was king.  Manny Batten honed his skills on the blacktop and along with great academics, was able to parlay that into a full scholarship to the Cardigan Mountain boarding school in Canaan, NH. While there he was an all league basketball player, and picked up Lacrosse and Football as well.  He then went on to the Lawrenceville School in Princeton, NJ to become a three sport athlete. He chose Lacrosse ultimately because it combined the agility and skills that he learned on the basketball court  and the toughness displayed on the gridiron. It proved to be the best decision because Manny ended up being a member of the nation’s top recruiting class of the Division One National Champion Loyola University Greyhounds.  His love and adoration for sports and children have made him an integral part of the Corbin’s Crusaders. Manny is married with 3 children who attend camp and, in addition to his phenomenal coaching skills, he is a long standing camp character and leader on campus all summer long.

Our ‘Mighty’ Staff

Since we run year-round athletic programs for NYC and Westchester Schools in addition to camp, we have a full-time Leadership Team that is experienced and knowledgeable. Many are parents and all understand that each child’s safety is the most critical issue.

Seasonal staff are carefully vetted and hired for their skills and enthusiasm for working with and being role models for the children in their care.

Our week-long training for camp staff takes place in June. We focus on our philosophy of building character and provide staff with the tools to manage, engage and motivate campers.

Many of our staff return year after year and our ‘farm system’ of our own Counselors-In-Training provides excellent applicants each year.
